It’s been a while – an update!

Hello Readers!

It has been a while (more than a while actually) since I’ve written a post for this blog. I thought I would take the time to write a little update about what I’ve been doing over the last few months, and my plans for this blog.

I’ve been incredibly busy over the last few months with my business. Some of you may know that I run a handmade jewellery business selling all kinds of lovely jewellery and accessories, and things really began to take off this year. I have been piling my time, resources and money into business which has been taking up nearly all of my time!

I now have a brand new website (although I do still have my Etsy page as well) and setting that up was time consuming – but also fun.

The other business adventure I started up is being a Younique make-up presenter. I’m not sure where this will take me, but I hope that it will at least be fun! You can follow the link  here to have a nose around at the products and company (and if you have any questions about it then feel free to drop me a message)

I have of course still been reading, although not at the kind of speed I used to read, and I have picked up some great books recently, and I hope to make a video for my YouTube channel talking about them.

I also recently picked up the”literary listography” book which has given me some great ideas for some blog posts and videos and I hope to get round to these soon!

Thank you so much to the subscribers (old and new) who are still around reading my blog and watching my YT – it means the world and I will be back with some awesome book content soon. xxx.

Happy New Year!

hello everyone 🙂

I’m a little late in the year to come back with a new year post, but I still wanted to wish you all a happy new year! I hope January and February have been good to you so far 🙂

My hopes for this years reading

This year I want to focus on enjoying what I read! As with last year, I won’t be keeping count of the number of books I read, the length of my ‘To Be Read’ shelf, or competing in reading challenges. Instead I want to focus more of each book individually – reading at my own leisurely pace and really collecting my thoughts at the end of each book. I plan on posting monthly reading wrap-up videos on my YouTube channel, as a way of doing a few mini reviews each month, as well as filling out my written reading journal and of course writing some full reviews on here! I hope that this will continue to bring me back to the core of why I really love reading.

My hopes for this blog

I aim to use this blog as a place for my longer, written reviews. Probably not of every single book, but definitely ones that leave me with a lot to say. I want to be more detailed in these reviews – in terms of information about the books themselves – the cover, length, publisher etc.

I will also be sharing my YouTube videos on here, which should be once a week as my schedule for video uploads is every Friday.

I also want to play around with other book related content – perhaps sharing my favourite book related products, some quirky book photography, favourite book shops and so on. I’m really hopeful about this year of blogging!

My hopes for the year in general

As a whole, I want to really focus on becoming a better person this year (a bit cliché I know!). In particular I want to remember to be grateful for the life I have and the wonderful people in it, I want to see more good in people than bad and I want to forgive a little more. There are many other things, but I won’t ramble on for too long here!

I’m going to leave you with some recent videos I’ve filmed for YouTube. I hope you enjoy them and I will talk to you soon.

Happy Reading! 🙂

20 Things You Didn’t Know About Me!

20 Things You Didn’t Know About Me!

Hello my lovely readers :).

I wanted to take a moment to do a post that is a little bit different from my usual posts. This is not a book review, or relating to reading at all. This post is about me. I do keep most of my personal life off the internet but every now and again I feel that I should open up a little bit. So here is a post about me – 25 things about me that you probably didn’t know before. I hope you enjoy this 🙂

1) I have a slight obsession with things that have skulls on – clothing, jewellery, stationary and so on. I even got a skull tattooed above my right ankle when I was 19.

2) I have only ever been on an aeroplane once (although that should increase this summer!)

3) My favourite junk food is crisps!

4) I watch the 6 seasons of ‘Sex and the City’ over and over again.

5) Summer 2008 was the best summer I have ever had. I spent so much quality time with my friends, had a car for the first time, had money for the first time and enjoyed every second of being home before I went off to university.

6) My first university experience was awful and I dropped out after 12 weeks. Thankfully, I went back to a different university and started a different course the following september. I’m now super proud to have a BA honours degree :).

7) My favourite PS3 games are the ‘Uncharted’ series. I have played and completed each game more times than I can count on my hands!

8) I like to listen to cheesy pop music while I’m driving around.

9) I frequently forget to feed my fish :s

10) I’ve had my stuffed elephant called ‘Jack’ since I was 8 years old, and he still sleeps in my bed (much to my boyfriend’s amusement)

11) I like to buy stationary, and I have a cupboard full of it! I don’t think I’ll ever use it all!

12) I waited 16 years to go to Hogwarts. I feel that I achieved this when I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. It was magical and one of best days I’ve had in years.

13) I really, really hate clubbing.

14) I also dislike staying up late.

15) I get seriously, seriously grumpy when I’m tired.

16) I am an only child.

17) I am painfully shy at times, and it takes me a while to get truly comfortable with someone new.

18) My best friend Hazel is one of the few people that makes me laugh till my stomach hurts and I have tears rolling down my face.

19) I am scared of spiders. And clowns. And wasps. And dogs. And the unknown. and..well, you get the idea.

20) My first car was a Nissan Micra and it was red :).

Q&A – Ask Away!

Q&A!

Hi guys 🙂

I’m sure most of you are aware that I have a youtube channel (TurningPages90) for book related videos! I decided to also do a Q&A video for my subscribers so everyone can get to know me a little better, on a personal level rather than just a ‘Booktuber’ level.

If you have anything you would like to ask me then comment on the following video :).

Don’t forget to check out the other videos on my channel!

A General Update!

An Update!

Hello everyone :).

I wanted to give you all a little update on why my blog posts have been a little scarce this week, and why they may be over the next week or so.

I’ve just started a new job, in a pre-school, teaching children 2 to 5 years old. I’m very much enjoying it, but there is a lot to do and learn over these next few weeks! I haven’t had quite as much time to read, but I think I’ll get back into a routine soon enough, and get those reviews and posts coming! :).

To round of this rather short and to the point post, I wanted to share a few things that I’ve stumbled across online recently; perfect for any book lover :).
